    The Help to Buy scheme and the HPI we've recently seen are totally unrelated.

    I guess the usual suspects will never learn and will continue forming their opinion guided by applause levels on Question Time. Oh well.

    The number of mortgages being approved by High Street banks has fallen for the third month running.

    In April, the number of new loans being approved fell to 42,173, from 45,045 in March, according to the British Bankers' Association (BBA).

    The figures peaked in January, when more than 48,000 loans were approved.

    You wonder if the number approvals would have fallen sooner and lower.
  • So thats several thousand households going to be struggling in 5yrs when their mortgage payments need to go up so much.
