Freelance typist advice needed

Hi all! I hope you are all having wonderful evenings! I was inspired by ths website to look into going down the freelance typist avenue - for students' essays etc - I am a full time housewife and mummy to my 11 month old - I have 12 years exerience of being a secretary/PA/analyst and think this is probably the best skill I have to sell. Someone mentioned that I might need to give some thought to how I would prove that I am not seeling their essays on, posting them on the net etc - i.e. not stealing their intellectual property. Any thought, advice or guidance form anyone who has gone down this route

Thanks as always guys!

The last time I did any dissertation work was before widespread use of the internet, though it was word processed.

It is generally more likely that the students will have taken chunks of text from the internet than that a transcriber will put it up there. It's a risk that a student would have to take - to trust the transcriber. Perhaps saying you would do the work on a stand-alone, non internet connected computer, would help - but only if this is true.

I am looking for a transcriber. Can anyone advice me on how to go about this?

Kirsty, are you looking for some urgent work? Anyone else?

  • Hi Woodyrocks

I have 17 years experience of touch typing with average speed of 80 words per minutes. However, I am based in the north of the country. Please advise if you are still looking for someone with typing skills.

    Thanks.
What would you attempt to do if you knew you wouldn't fail?
