Working from home - legal secretary

Sorry if this has been posted before but I was wondering if the above kind of work actually exists and if so where? I live in Manchester. Can anyone help?

I don't know about Manchester, but audio transcription work is available in my part of the world for one firm that I know.

Oh right and what part of the world are you from?! It would have to be within a certain distance to hand the work back etc but then again I don't know how working from home works i.e. does all work get posted to and from work/home? Could you please elaborate I am interested?

There are legal transcription companies that have people who work from home doing audio typing - the law firm I used to work for used digital dication and as long as you can get yourself set up at home, you can basically plug in and type away all day! Try googling transcription service - I did this once and got the names of some companies that advertise for staff on their website, it takes a while going through all the sites but I know there are companies out there! Good luck.

Thanks so much, I have used digital dictation in the last law firm I worked for and it is excellent! I will take a look at "transcription services" and see what it comes up with.

I just remembered that I had bookmarked one of the sites, it's dtfl.co.uk/vacancies, I haven't clicked on it so I'm not sure whether there are vacancies, go for it, like I say it does take a bit of research, but there are loads of transcription companies out there, so chances are they will need staff at some stage - or start your own - there's a really successful company in Alloa started by a legal sec that my company used to use, but I can't for the life of me think of the name - basically, the work's sent down to you via the network, you transcribe and then send it back - it was mainly for attendance notes, but some of them can be interesting!
