First time buyer questions

Hi, just a few questions to I can prepare myself for when we apply for a mortgage!

We are planning to apply for a mortgage towards the end of this year. By then I would have worked for the NHS for a year and will be on a salary of approx £22,000 a year including unsocial hours, overtime etc. My boyfriend did a placement year in 2012-2013 whilst at uni. He finishes uni in June and will be returning to the same company in September with a salary of £27,000 with a pretty much guaranteed bonus and pay rise each year. We are hoping to buy a house worth approx £200,000 and have a £20,000 deposit.

My questions are:
1. Will we have to wait for my boyfriend to have been in his job for a certain length of time? If so, how long approximately?
2. We will be getting a certain amount of our deposit from my boyfriends company as a 'start up loan' which is just a salary sacrifice each month - will this look bad when we go to apply for a mortgage?

Thank you!
