Mortgage in sole name allowed? Married
Comments
-
I applied for sole mortgage with halifax due to partners ( we are not married though ) credit rating being rubbish . I owned my last house on my own too ! Halifax never questioned application0

We just thought why not just put it in my husbands name as he is the earner etc, and will be paying the mortgage and providing the deposit anyway plus the calculator said we could borrow more that way
The calculator is only a guide and cannot understand every nuance of your application, however you can bet that once you put in a full application, and your husband tells them that he is supporting dependents - then the amount you will be able to borrow will come down again. They have to take the fact that he supports his family into consideration.0
