LP's new debt diary

Forget the old diary, it was rubbish and I was useless!
I’ll not go into how or why but my circumstances have changed a bit and as a result I now have a new debt amount.
This is the new improved Little Pickle’s diary, which I’ll try to keep updated as much as I can.
Righto then, down to business.
I’m not going to post an SOA as there really is no need.
I am now paying a very small amount on rent (which covers all bills and most food).
My only costs are going out and travel to & from work.
I am not living above my means, I am just (and here comes the honesty) lazy, impractical and terrible, terrible, terrible with money.
THE PLAN….
First of all, I will start a spending diary.
Unfortunately, I tend to get bored quickly, so this will be more of a scrapbook / diary / spending diary. The plan is to stick in any receipts I have and write everything down. Also my feelings about everything and new goals / brainwaves that I may have.
I will buy this book on my way home tonight.
Secondly, I will ebay my things.
My mum wants to go through the loft and ebay her stuff and she’s asked me to help her.
We are going to spend tonight going through unwanted stuff and listing like crazy!
I’m going to do mine at the same time.
Thirdly, CASH IS QUEEN!!!!!
I will no longer use my current account card. I no longer use my credit card so that’s dealt with, but I use my current account card ALL the time.
I will give myself a daily allowance and that’s all I’ll get. No more, no less.
I will leave the card at home from now on.
Wish me luck… I am desperate to get all of this sorted, even though my debt is small, it still gets me down and my OH and I are starting the house-buying ball rolling… I want to be debt free before we sign on the dotted line!!!!
Sorry for rambling..

Had a good day today, managed only to spend on my train fare which was £6.20.
Also had some money spare this week and paid an extra £83.84 on my credit card and £17.37 on my old account’s overdraft.
My £10.00 weekly payment to credit card cleared this morning too.
My new totals are:
Folks: £1,800.00
Overdraft: £180.00
Credit Card: £1,520.00
TOTAL DEBT: £3,500.00
I thought it would be nice to make the extra payments in numbers that would give me rounded total figures… I can’t stand the extra pence on debts…!!!
Roll on Friday when I can make some more payments!0 -
LP, also with eBay I downloaded Turbolister. it's much easier and then you ALWAYS have all of your listings there so that if you re-list them they haven't disappeared like they do on eBay site!0

I am totally determined to reduce my debt by as much as possible by the end of August.
My birthday is in September and my OH has agreed to put back our holiday until 1st week of September. Means I can spend more time eating away at the credit card. I want to get it down to around £900.00 by that time. That’s 8 paydays for me. Works out at around £80 per week. Going to be very tough, but will be SO worth it if I can manage it!
Not going to stress too much… as long as I can get it under the £1,000 mark I’ll be happy.
Plus, I’m going to ebay as much as I possibly can (and Amazon). Having an ebay night tonight with Mum. She has said that we can split the profits, for what I list of her stuff, but I don’t want to do that. Her and Dad have been amazing giving me a loan for half of my credit card amount – I wouldn’t want to take anything else off of them…EVER!
I’m also going to help out my brother. Last year he got into massive amounts of debts. My parents ended up re-mortgaging to pay off his debts.
I told M&D that I was claiming back my charges from Barclays and said I might help Bro do the same. Dad thinks it will be in the thousands… better get on that sharpish tonight!
Lastly, I sent off my letter to Barclays asking them to reimburse my bank charges. I’m claiming £1,016 from them (including interest). I’m hoping they’ll be nice at least pay me back the total minus interest (£875.00).
Over and out for now!

Good morning!
New totals... not much of a difference this week as I have to see a specialist next Wednesday and it's not cheap!
Hoping to take more off next Friday, but pleased with my progress nonetheless as I managed to pay the extra amounts this week.

Well, another payday and the debt keeps falling!
I've updated my signature as below and I think I'm doing quite well so far.
I think from now on, I will keep to the budgets and every Thursday ( I get paid on Fridays) I will put whatever I have left in my account towards my debts.
I'll still have my direct debits set up for Fridays, but anything on Thursdays is extra.
On the downside this week was expensive for me.
Had food allergy tests and it was a bit costly. Fortuneatley, I knew it was coming and budgeted for it.
the expense I didn't expect was for the suppliments I would have to take from now on... not cheap. anywhere. I had to use the creditcard as I had only bugeted for the consultation. ho-hum... not going to get sad as it's for my health. and it'll only put me back by a little bit.
Nothing has sold on ebay yet..
just keep swimming, just keep swimming....0
