7 months of pain for a lifetime gain

Hi all,
I am 7 months away from turning 34 and the end of the year (give or take) and I REALLY really REALLY want this to be the last year I have debt against my name (I concede I probably will need to be in debt again for a house)
The 7 months I face is going to be painful as I look to get out £18k debt and turn my life around. My life is pretty good if you view it from one angle. I have a good job in a field where some people would love to be, at a good firm where many want to work, am relatively fit and healthy, have a nice SO and a roof over my head.
I dont see it from this angle, instead I feel like I am very weak (never been able to do push-ups), overweight (BF of 26%) serial procrastinator (I was going to do my work personal development plan last night, I ate 7 cookies instead) and frustrated (Is she the one for me? Am I in the right career? right country?
When I imagine the end of the year with the thought being debt free or significantly closer, weighing 2 stone less or close enough (15.1 to 13.3) dropping 10% Body Fat and getting out of being a procrastinating sod it brings me relief more than anything else.
I do have a lot of things to focus on in the next 7 months and I look forward to a successful journey to getting to where I want to be in life and not where I am now even though its pretty good apart from the debt....

Here we go, good luck for making the decision to start!
I started a few months back and check my signature out. Have a good read of peoples diaries when you need some motivation. I look at people that are near their Debt free day and back read their Journey.
Good luck and all the best from the Captain on the South Coast.(Debt Jan 2014 LBM £34,000) Current 2016 "Problems" as follows:
C Cards 1,2,3,4 WAS £18,333 NOW£0 :j...Overdraft WAS £2700 NOW£0 :j
Secured Loan WAS £4113 NOW£0:j.......Loan WAS £8864 NOW £6,000
DEBT TODAY = £6,000 (£28,000 PAID OFF SO FAR!)0 -
Thanks very much Captain, I see you are sailing ahead on your diary...
As expected the work development plan is not complete, but it's getting there and only due tomorrow. I did manage to brave the rain yesterday for a swim outdoors which was free. I bought a newspaper yesterday for £1 breakfast today for £2.45 and plan to swim again tonight... Tomorrow is payday and this will help knock down some of the numbers in my signature...
I expect this week to be a slow week before I really start to focus on weight loss and muscle gain as well as becoming very tight with expenses...Overdraft: 1,456.77, CC: 9,800, Loan: 4,646.79 Total: £15,903.560 -
First half iron man completed on the weekend and the pain has almost subsided...
Debt wise, not much has changed the weekend was quite expensive as had to hire a van to get up for the race.
This week has been a recovery week for me but expenses have been pretty low so hopefully I can get a good dent in the amounts in my signature during the next few weeks

Hi - I make the totals £12k, not £18k, in your signature?"Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Welcome to the boards. I hope you get to where you want to go this year. Hope the plan is realistic.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I cant believe how quickly time flies!! Definitely not going to hit my targets but everything is going in the right direction - Been to the gym quite regularly recently and debt is coming down so with a strong focus on the last 2 pay checks I can drastically reduce the overall debt before year end. I am almost debt free with the ISA but I really want to clear down the debt on CC1 so I dont pay interest on the card.
The other goal is to not have a hangover like this one again this year - was way too horrible to deal with - but it got me back on here
