Is it my imagination, or have the tins shrunk and prices skyrocketed? Whatever happened to the decent sized cans I used to buy from Lidl?
Its a summer staple for me, sweetcorn and hummus sandwich in granary bread - yum! The cobs won't be around for a couple of months get...who has time to wait for frozen to cook and then cool down?

Hi - I had a tuna and sweet corn jacket potato for lunch yesterday.
Money saving tip - I buy the cheap frozen sweet corn and cook a large amount then keep it in the fridge if I want to use it in the next few days. Even quicker is using a microwave, if you have one.
The tins of sweet corn are too expensive, frozen is much cheaper. :money:0 -

I used to buy the frozen smartprice one in Asda as the price of a tin seemed alot in comparison however the tinned Aldi one is delicious. It tastes so fresh and crunchy. It's 285g drained weight for 35p.0

The price of corn is rising. Corn is widely used as an animal food source here in North America. It's also pressed for cooking oil and used in some bio-diesel fuels.
It's not going to get cheaper for us humans. Many growers presell their crops for the alternate uses.
It used to be I'd be able to buy corn on the cob for 25 cents and ear. Now I'm lucky to be able to get it at 5 ears for $2.0
