I ask as i don't see how they can make you use there computers to job search to be entitled to jsa as European law states that "Everyone has the right to the protection of personal data concerning him or her. "

But they have bought away your rights as part of your JSA claim.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

It is likely they will be able to see which sites you have visited. It is unlikely any data imputted onto those sites will be recorded, hence no breach of your 'human rights'.0 -
In theory they could check what sites you visit but in reality they wouldn't because even if they could be bothered to check it there wouldn't be anything on there.
Most of these companies have insanely obstructive block lists and it's often amazing what they won't allow you to search. I was on one of these things 6 months ago, I wanted to apply for several jobs and was not able to because their sites were blocked.
They tend to ban terms rather than specific sites which really sucks when you're applying to positions in movie studios, game companies, fashion retailers and tons of other stuff.
My advice? Make sure you've got some interesting stuff to watch or listen to on your phone because you're going to get very bored very fast. I wrote and illustrated an entire comic on the back of handouts they gave us when I went to my one, although you could probably get them to give you a placement at Tesco or something.
It just depends if you value your principles more than your sanity, become a state slave for Tesco or Poundland or be bored so bored that a week feels like a month.
To be honest though it may pick up your spirits somewhat. When I was at mine I thought I'd be surrounded by crack heads, alcoholics and single mothers (if you had a child to get a council flat feel free to be offended, to everyone else I wasn't talking about you) but I was in pretty good company.
One dude was fluent in Japanese and had just finished his MA. Another guy was a plumber who couldn't work as a plumber anymore because he injured his hand and had 3 knuckles replaced. Another guy used to be an area manager of a chain of off licenses...
Everyone there was polite, presentable, skilled and employable. Yet there we were, sitting in a room with some Bulgarian women trying to unveil some deep insight as to why we aren't working and coming up empty.
Her advice included "Some people might feel threatended by your experience or qualifications, so feel free to just leave stuff off your CV!" which was immediatly followed by an exercise where we have to imagine a bunch of people are stuck on a desert island and figure out who we're going to send off in a raft for help.
The people you have to choose from are a doctor, a carpenter, a chef, a soldier, a tailor and Steve who can apparently play the guitar. The goal is to pick someone who is of least value to the island to send away, naturally everyone goes for Steve the part time guitarist.
Here comes the M. Night Shyamalan twist, apparently Steve the guitarist is also a doctor who specialises in tropical disease and is a survivalist nut.
We all look baffled and ask "Where does it say that on these sheets?" which is the entire lesson, if you don't tell people how you can be of value to them they'll never know.
Maybe Steve was worried the rest of the island would feel threatened by how much he has to contribute.
The whole thing will be a massive waste of time if you are actually looking for work, if you're not looking for work it will probably bore you into trying to find work.0 -
What data do you think they will be recording.
You do not have to log into anything to search for jobs.
You just look for advertised vacancies and apply to them via email.0 -
Here's the solution. Get a USB flash drive / memory stick of at least 2Gb. Then download Firefox Portable.
Get it here:
http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable
Firefox Portable should leave no traces of personal info behind. When done, simply yank your USB flash drive from the host PC.0
