Sorry to bore you all with my life:o:rotfl: but I'm really excited for my son:D we have been waiting for a few weeks for a letter to arrive and it came today with the news he wanted :D

He has been given the opportunity to go to morocco in 2016 and help build a school and orphanage..there were so many people wanting to do it they did a selection process and the letter came today to say he's going :D
The hard part now is he has to fundraise £1750 by himself to go

He has loads of ideas so I'm sure he will be fine :)

What a wonderful thing for him to do :j:j

Would a.com not apply the £100 per household rule on the combined accounts making it relatively pointless?

Or is it £100 per account?

:hello: Should all advertising be read the complete opposite to what it says?

Having ditched Nationwide's FlexDirect after a year of 5%, they are now trying to get me back! I've had a mailing from them, offering me their new FlexPlus current account, with a rate of 3% (variable:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:). The premium current account "without the premium price" they say.

Cost of £10 per month. To me, that is a premium price.

Then again, I've just looked up the meaning of "premium pricing" and it seems I'm wrong! My view is (was?) that any cost at all is a "premium" as "premium" is the cost for something. However, it seems "premium pricing" strategies are those that charge a higher price, that people are prepared to pay (not me of course:rotfl:), than similar products.

I don't need any of the travel insurance or other things. To me, a "similar" product, that does well for my needs, is a bog-standard current account with no cost at all:money: - or at least something that far outweighs any cost.

    :rotfl::rotfl:

Perhaps all advertising is misleading. It's all a selection intended to present the product or service, whatever it is, in the best possible light. I think this is why I have problems and tend not to be very good at negotiation at all. Unfortunately my own approach is for the truth and therefore I present my views - and myself - with warts and all. Rather than ignoring the warts and presenting a picture of me in the best possible light. I remember the time, decades ago, when I was searching for a job. Unfortunately my CV would be truthful whereas 99% or more of candidates pick out best light and gild and craft it in a way that presents a misleading view that is more likely to land them the job. I'm sorry (no I'm not:p) - it's the truth!! Place a normal CV, gilded and crafted, versus one that isn't and the one that isn't loses out on every occasion:(. The truthful do not get promoted or do need even get a job whilst those that lie get it and are promoted.

I've now Googled the phrase "all advertising is misleading" and come across this:

    https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A9mSs2WwzJFTMEQAhOpLBQx.;_ylu=X3oDMTE0YnFlcWVxBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDNQRjb2xvA2lyMgR2dGlkA01TWVVLMDFfMQ--?qid=20090225210350AAlwOpV

I must be so gullible:(. I honestly thought - right up till seeing that - that Kellogg's All Bran was completely bran and nothing else (apart from perhaps a tiny trace of de minimis material that could be disregarded from the issue). Well, that's what "all" says to me. According to that page, it contains 32% bran. So it's looks like another one - if "All Bran" ever appears on any of my lists again, I'm now going to have to put the word "All" in quotation marks as my lists aimed to avoid or remove promotional wording intended to get you to buy products and thus spend more money. Every product name is part promotional and intended to sell the product. From "Golden" "Delicious" (and, there, both words are words that paint a good light) to (supposed) "Smart" Price.

I saw a programme section on Chicken Nuggets on BBC ONE last night (The Food Inspectors - er, maybe I shouldn't watch these sorts of things:rotfl::rotfl:). I also, whilst watching the teaser part of the programme for it, Googled (yes, yet again:rotfl:) about content of chicken nuggets and, although some of this is American-based again, found that much of some chicken nuggets (people of squeamy dispositions should not read the rest of this post) are actually best described as fat. They're really fat nuggets. So - the word "Chicken" now may have to go into quotation marks!:rotfl:

Without suggesting or knowing whether or not "S"P Chicken Nuggets are one of the nugget varieties in question. (To ensure I maintain the truth, I'll have to add a further note to clarify that this does not imply one way or the other whether the Nuggets have or have not got much Chicken, lol!:rotfl::rotfl:.)

for any Crunchy Nutters out there who don't have a large enough stockpile...

    Kellogg's Crunchy Nut Cornflakes (750g)

    T [STRIKE]£3.14 [/STRIKE]£1.57
    A £3.14

That would make for a pretty decent non glitch price on an AvT shop (or even just pick them up in T)

Sorry if old news but it's not something I've paid any attention to. I can't stand them and only noticed it because my store had whoopsied them down to half this price again :money:
