BBC EXTEND SCHEME

Exclusively for disabled people, Extend is an award-winning, BBC-wide work placement scheme which offers appropriately experienced and/or qualified disabled people a great opportunity to gain 6 months paid work experience within the BBC. Although the scheme doesn't necessarily lead to a full-time job, last year more than half its intake gained further work at the BBC.

Starting from October 2007, around 25 placements will be available right across the UK including London, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Coventry, Glasgow and Norwich, in both programming areas and programme support areas.

As well as matching the criteria for the individual placement, you'll need to demonstrate a keen interest in broadcasting and knowledge of BBC output for our diverse audience. Excellent communication and team working skills are also essential.

Applications to be received 22 July. Interviews and assessments are expected to be held between 28 August and 7 September.

I would have said you were more sadist than optimistic. :D
Work like you don't need money,

I don't think JobbingMusician works for the BBC herself, so she's OK!

But no jobs in Leeds, so quite out of the question, he'd have to leave home, and how could he do that for just a 6 month placement which might not lead anywhere?

I'm not sure he'd be able to demonstrate the necessary communication and people skills either! :rotfl:

    but a nice thought!
