Employer not paid me - messing me around?

Hi all. I have posted on here numerous times about problems with my employer underpaying me. I spoke to him about myself looking for other opportunities. Today, I have not been paid.

Here is a log I am keeping of events to help me should this need to be continued:

15/05/2014

1.00 PM - Informed my boss that I am considering another position at another company, and could I get a pay rise. I asked for a raise of about £4,000. My boss effectively said he couldn't afford and to go away and think about it over the weekend.

23/05/2014

10.00 AM - My boss claimed a problem with the bank prevented wages being paid. My boss mentioned that this was because too many payments had been sent from the bank, and that the bank had placed a stop on the transactions due to anti-fraud measures, and there being a transaction limit per day.

1.30 PM – My boss went up to the bank to sign a document to say that the transactions were authorised, which in his own words, “would allow the payments to be immediately sent”.

3 PM - At 3 PM, everybody had received their wages except for myself. My colleagues verbally confirmed openly that they had received their wages into their bank account.

4.20 PM – At 4.20 PM, I raised the issue with My boss that my wages had still not been paid. My boss checked the computer and said that it had definitely been sent. I asked for My boss to chase up the payment with the bank, and My bosses response was that the bank won’t be able to do anything because it has already been sent.

4.30 PM – My boss said that normally wages don’t get paid until the 26th, and to wait until then. Because the 26th is a Bank Holiday, it may not fall until the 27th. My boss stated that everybody had been paid on the 23rd due to the company doing us a “favour”, but reiterated that my payment had already been sent.

As my "correct" payday is Monday, which falls on a Bank Holiday, am I correct in assuming that I should wait until Tuesday until taking appropriate action towards correcting this?

Of course, it is all possible that it is a "coincidence" that my wages haven't been received; even though everybody elses have.

What is my best course of action? Wait until Tuesday, and then issue a demand in writing if I haven't received them? When should I contact ACAS?

Have you called your bank to see if they can see the transaction?

You need to calm down with making demands, that will get you nowhere. If nothing appears by Tuesday then politely and calmly ask your boss to call his bank first thing on Tuesday morning.

Perhaps the making demands part was a bit over the top. My boss has done the same thing before with temporary workers - purposefully not paid them to make them "suffer" over the weekend without any wages. I just the feeling he's repeating it. There's a negative aroma in the air between him and myself constantly since I first mentioned a pay increase.
