Ive a query for a friend regarding commision. If a company pays a 3 quartley commision 1 month in arrears and then decides that it will now be paid 2 months in arrears how much notice does it need to give?
Basically the employees were expecting the payment at the end of the month but have been I formed it will now be the end of the following month. The commision structre changed at the start of the new financial year but this is the final payment on tbe previous structure.
Thanks

Commission schemes are usually discretionary so will be up to the company how and when they pay.0

Never seen any commission to be voluntary, its always been contractual though it can occasionally be dependent on your general performance also being up to standard which can bring in an element of doubt.
To the OP - how do they get three quarterly commissions? what happens to the 4th quarter?
What does it say in their contracts about commissions? If its not there is there a formal company policy on it or?0 -
Sorry its a bit messed up. They get 4 quartley commisions paid 30 days in arrear, theyve recieved 3 of these as correct but the 4th will now be paid 60 days in arrears. They also get a yearly bonus for hitting target which is paid 60 days in arrears but will now be 90 days.
Not sure about contracts but they have got it in writing from the start of the scheme last year that it will be paid 30 days in arrears.0
