Anniversary Gift

I have several gifts that I need to buy in the next few weeks or so and my mind has gone blank. I don't know what to get anybody! We have quite a few summer birthdays in my family and I want to get everyone something meaningful, but especially my husband as it's his birthday and then it's going to be our first wedding anniversary soon after.
Being our first anniversary I want to get him something related to paper, but I'm not sure what. I was thinking maybe tickets to something but I have a sneaky suspicion he may do that for me as I love the theatre and going to events and things.
I was thinking maybe I could make something like get some maps, cut them into heart shapes, and frame them of where we met, where we got engaged, and where we got married... It wouldn't be much in money value, but would be thoughtful? I know there is a DVD set he wants (it's 8 series, so costs a bit) which he mentioned to me, but I'm thinking that's more of a birthday gift.
Does anyone have any good ideas? Thanks. x

I'd go with tickets. Unless he unfortunately buys you tickets for the same gig it just means you get two enjoyable days out instead of one0

I wrote the Mrs a poem (printed on paper, obv) - she gave me some art prints (on paper).
Tickets are a good plan - doesn't matter if you get two sets.
Really like the maps idea, too - it's personal.
I know a lot of people that have had nice framed photos for their first anniversary too...nice reminder of the wedding.0 -
I got my husband an autobiography from the lead singer of how favourite band.
Another idea is a map of the word with pins to mark places you have been.Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
I'm glad you posted this, as I was just going to! I'll be reading with interest, as it's our first anniversary coming up next month too.
My hubby buys quite a lot of magazines, and the ones he buys aren't especially cheap either (not like my trashy celeb mags are!) so I was thinking of maybe buying him a magazine subscription to his favourite one.0 -
I don't mean to put a downer on this, but isn't 1st wedding anniversary cotton, and paper for 2nd? The reverse is the US tradition...MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0

Tickets are probably best but I do like the maps/hearts idea but the maps may turn out to be rather expensive. I wonder if you can print something off the 'net and maybe make him a card using that idea?"'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

It's Paper for first and Cotton for second in both the UK and the US.0 -
Thank you for all the ideas everyone! Hubby is going out this afternoon to play football so I'm thinking I may do some research into these ideas then!
Georgie, I'm sure you'll find something fabulous that he'll love.

Hopefully.
I think I'm more or less settled on the Magazine Subscription. The only other thing he really loves is sweets, cake and Xbox games! :rotfl:
Good luck in finding something!0
