Help needed. Changing jobs advice.

Hi all,

I currently have a mortgage in place and am waiting to exchange contracts. We have a date already agreed to move in 4 weeks time.

I have been given the opportunity to go for a job which would double my wages but I need to act fast as interviewing starts soon.

If I were to leave my job then I would have to give 4 weeks notice in which is fine and would also take me past completion date.

Is it likely that, providing I am offered the job, the bank would do more checks or try to contact my employer before completion?

Would it be advised not to go for this position even though this offer doesn't come around very often?

I am torn on what to do as the job would be life changing but I need the house more.

Thanks in advance for help.

If you agree a new job before completion of your mortgage, you are required to notify your lender of the material change to your circumstances.

Some lenders have little issue with this. Others will withdraw your offer until you meet their minimum period of employment, or see out any probationary period.

If interviews have not yet started, I suspect you will be in your new home before it becomes an issue.
