Most lenders will do with two, a couple with one, if you have a higher enough score.

Sorry can't help on your problem, other than try and resolve without dragging courts etc.

I always avoid family arrangements like this as they almost always cause problems further down the line.
yes well like i said, i was very naive and thought it would have made things easier when it came to buying my own. very naive as i am now questioning how long i would have had to wait to move on anyways.....

You could move your family in with them. Living with a house full might prompt them to sell up sooner rather than later?
haha eh you joking? world war 3! and it's nowhere near where either my husband or i work so it would make for a pretty long and awkward commute.....

Your husband will need 3 years of accounts so that is 2 years away.
How much equity is in the property and did you put in some of the deposit?
deposit was £50, house was £225k with a £175k mortgage. none of the deposit was mine and i am not looking for any money out of the house, just to be financially freed from it.

trying to achieve not being financially tied to my mum and her partner so i can buy my own property when the right one comes up.

    Buy you own property, right.

Being named on the mortgage at your parents house does not exclude you from getting another one for your to live in.

Have you taken professional advice about the prospect of getting the new mortgage from a qualified broker?

It would seem from your post you are not in a position to do anything right now due to your husbands work, or are you thinking to take the mortgage without relying on his income?

    Hi
    Sorry just saw this!
The plan would have been so that I can mortgage a property for my husband and I to live in if his business isn't at a point where we couldn't get a joint mortgage. Feel like we don't want to rent for any longer than 2 years as it then becomes wasted money - my husband has substantial deposit.
I didn't think it would be likely to be able to get another mortgage whilst named on this one? If i could then it would fix a lot, but I still don't like the idea of being tied to this mortgage (just in case anything went wrong).
