Applying for two posts

Hi
so yesterday i applied for a post as senior radiology assistant which is a band 3 as i think i meet the requirements and before i did my nursing course i was interested in this field. Anyways there is a posting today for a Radiology assitant as a Band 2. The postings are for the same hospital and the interview dates are the same. Should i just leave the band 2 post alone as ive already applied for band 3. it might seem im greedy. plus would look like i cant decide.

What do you think.

Go for interview at Band 3. Whilst at interview, suggest your interest in the industry and that you would also consider Band 2?

Agree with this. Don't apply for both as interviewers may make assumptions abuot you before you even turn up.

If you get invited for interview at one, bring up your interest in the department as a whole and that you'd be keen to learn and develop there should the opportunity arise.

Assuming this is the NHS, you must apply for the Band 2 role in order to be considered for it. They may decide to only interview you once, but for the process to be fair and transparent they should not be placing someone in a role they have not applied for.

When I applied for my current role it was being advertised at band 3 and band 4. I applied for both and got an interview for both, which they were willing to combine into one, and I got the band 4 job. You have nothing to lose by applying for both. If you're good enough to be interviewed for the band 3 job, you will be, and if you get it that's great, but you wouldn't necessarily be automatically considered for the band 2 job without having an application already in place.
