purchasing in flight food on debit card
really not sure where to put this, so please excuse me putting it in here. I chose here as it seems to be the place that gets the most traffic.
On the 11th May i purchased food on a flight with thomson for the total of £11.30.
This money still hasn't came out of my account and isn't even showing as funds unavailable.
It's been 10 days... How long does this normally take?
Thanks

It takes as long as it takes, at a guess all the transactions are batched up on a flight and processed sometime later.0

I read somewhere on this site last week (it was an online transaction for amaz0n I think) that a company has up to 6 months to take the money for a transaction done by card. They have, apparently, up to 6 years but after 6 months they must write to inform you of this.

The simple money saving solution is not to buy overpriced aircraft food and drink.it takes too much time.....
But when your transaction is at 35,000 feet the cost of the technology to link up with the payments system immediately would be considered excessive by most airlines.
It surely isn't beyond the ability of bank account holders who've been on holiday to leave the money in their account until the firm they owe money to collects it.0
