Urgent advice re negative equity, name on mortgage but on land registry

I bought a house with an expartner, joint mortgage but he left and a yr after he left he took over mortgage and I signed over the land registry to him but my name on mortgage still. 5 yrs later House is still in negative equity and have seen that the house is up for sale, am I still liable to pay half of the negative equity. Any assistance greatly appreciated

I would say you are liable to pay all the negative equity, but so is your ex.This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

But if you refused to pay it, then he'd have to since the lender won't release their charge without it being paid off.0 -
Someone will have to pay the negative equity if he has not already. He could also port the mortgage to another property, but I could not believe he could do that legally without your agreement?0
