Forum users dwindling?

Is it me? It seems that the amount of IWIWIW, chat and users looking at comps is going down.

Have people lost the comping bug or faith in winning?

Just an observation:think::think:

    I wonder if the lack of posts in IWIWIW is down to the negativity that comes across sometimes in chat, where people question why we put prizes in our signatures / why we feel the need to share winning a bit of cheese, etc. I hope not. I'm firmly in the camp that says a bit of cheese is as good as a £100 voucher, because a win is a win, although I don't post in IWIWIW as much anymore and tend to give my thanks via private message.

    There was a flurry of messages on Chat about people feeling disheartened, so I wonder if that is connected to the lack of obviously active users here.

    Of course, it may just be down to regular users going away for holidays before the school vacation starts!

    Either way, it's a shame that things are quieter.

    As with all forums it goes through ups and downs. People who posted regularly (sometimes a bit too regularly) move on. New peeps join and sometimes they are chatty and sometimes they aren't.

    I go through phases myself depending on how much time I have to comp and post bon mots.

    I don't post in IWIWIW (except for my photos of Abu Dhabi) but if it is a "big" prize I will pm the op to say thank you.

    Chat can be a bit dull if it's all the same threads and we do seems to be having a lot of the "I'm a newbie what should I do?" and I am grateful to the regulars who have far more patience than me who post the links to the comping guide for them.

    Some of the more, how shall I put this, controversial posters have been quite of late but I'm sure if somebody starts a thread with "lets post all the competitions alphabetically from now on" we could start a debate going.

  • Sunny weather!! Everybody wants to be in the outdoors, I know I have! Although on Sunday, I spent over an hr trying to set up in the garden so I could get a connection & comp for a bit haha.

    I'm with Sax11 on "less user - more chance for those still comping"

    And I love your signature JessicAhh, after asking you when I started comping at Christmas what it all meant, I now smile every time I see your signature and see how your getting on, shows winning something is possible if you keep at it x

    and cheese is rarely accepted as a form of currency.
