Hello lovely DFWers - old timers and newbies. Welcome to a new week :j

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will do the following:

- piggy and quidco clicks
- send everyone off with pack ups
- check online banking and update spreadsheet
- do lots of admin - including sorting out my old insurance claim
- stick to meal plan - tonight it is gammon egg and chips
- not increase my debt in any way
- be positive!!

hope everyone has a fantastic day :D

I've got up early to do my expenses to send off to the accountant and start on my tax return. Also planning to quit smoking once I run out of ciggys today. Also need to chase the mortgage broker again as still haven't had confirmation through for the mortgage and I'm getting a bit twitchy about it.

On my shopping list today are the ingredients for very environmentally friendly and extremely DFW cleaning products. So tonight I will be making my own multi-surface cleaner; polish; and toilet cleaner. :j

I shall try and rescue the weedy tomato seedlings (v late I know, but free) because I am convinced that August will be very very hot......

    Done my clicks.

Sent OH to work with a couple of rock hard flapjacks that he is too polite to criticise. (spookily, I've forgotten mine :D )

    • Have renewed house/contents insurance through quidco for same rate as renewal came through from existing insurer and will hopefully get £120 back!
    • Upgraded Mum's PC yesterday - OK the RAM cost £60  but it was her birthday and it saved her buying a new one (couldn't believe she was going to buy a new one cos it was slow, yet still have 50% hdd space left!).
    • Saw a lovely little cloak in Monsoon for my bridesmaid but it was £28! So, ordered the same thing from BHS - special offer £10 + £3 postage!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
