If you started after April 2012 then they can dismiss you for any reason that isn't discriminatory in the eyes of the law (ie because of your gender) or for standing up for statutory rights (ie NMW wage) and there is little you could do about it.

What is their notice period to you?

But they cant sack me on the spot can they?
they'd have to give me notice right?
Which is 4 months for both me and them. I'm about a month into. My notice period.
Well they could sack you on the spot but you would most likely have a claim for wrongful dismissal which doesn't have the 2 year limit on it. It would cost you £1200 (some exemptions apply) to goto tribunal to be paid the notice period.

You could look at small claims court as well perhaps.

Personally I would suggest you go back and renegotiate the notice period.

4 months..wow, what do you do?

PS I am not an employment law expert, just someone with an interest in it.
