Best lenders for bad credit getting better!!

Hi guys just looking for some advice. We previously have had bad credit which we have gradually rebuilt but are still not perfect. Looking for a loan around £10000 for home improvements and know we won't be successful with the usual companies but probably would be accepted by others. Does anyone have any advice on who accepts not perfect credit?? Any other advice greatly received. Thankyou

What's your current credit situation and history like?

Have a try at the Nationwide Soft check, click on "Apply now" on their personal loan, it'll go through and give you a quote without a soft check. If they offer you a quote you're happy with, press continue, they'll do a full search and confirm whether you've been accepted/declined.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

Thanks for taking time to give advice! We have a credit card each from aqua and capital one which we pay off every month just to help with our credit score. I think we would still need to be using lenders for poor credit?

As far as I know there are no lenders for those with bad credit, well there might be but the int rate would be high I would imagine.

What are the credit limits on your cards?

Have a go at the nationwide soft check and see if it gives you an offer, report back :)

My advice would be save up the money rather than taking out high interest loans. Would waiting a few years really be so awful?

Define what you mean by "Gradually rebuilt but still not perfect".
It is not your opinion of your creditworthiness that counts, but that of a potential lender.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Ok have done Nationwide soft check and received a quote. It's not until I click through to next bit that they do credit check but to scared to do so Incase it's a no and that will affect rating again!!
