Transfer of equity/remortgage

Hi all,
My mortgage comes to an end at the end of this month and I am looking to get a cheaper rate. My current lender has offered me 3.49 and I have 110,000 to pay with 82% ltv.
The problem I have is that I need to transfer the mortgage into my name only - following a break up 18 months ago when I never got round to doing it! With my current lender and solicitors fees this is going to cost me £600. Would I still need to pay this if I just transfer to a new lender and take a mortgage in my name only?
Thanks for any advice

Probably. The transfer of equity is still chargeable, even if you get a "free legals" remortgage deal from a new lender.
