My daughter kitted herself out in all the kitchen equipment she would need for starting uni via freecycle last year - one trip to one kind lady to collect a bootful of stuff! I believe the lady was taking in her Mum to live with her and therefore donated the contents of their extra kitchen.

It's not that easy having a clearout though, is it ?
I go up in the loft and empty cupboards and wardrobes and just as i'm on my way out to the charity shop, i look, and think.......
This may come in handy one day.
This is precisely why I live by the rule "If in doubt, turf it out". It is also the reason one of the first things I did when I moved in with Mr LW was to retrain him not to hoard junk.:rotfl:

My work friend runs a community shop in a deprived area and they love rags in their donations. They're happy to spend the time sorting them (although if you had loads putting them in a separate bag might be helpful) because they get money per bag they sell on which they can use for their charity work. They also get good money for bras!! I work in Recycling so this makes me very happy - recycled and the profits go to a good cause.
