New House/Mortgage

I have a dilemma:-
I recently quit my job due to it being terrible and also wanting to take some time out. I have around £350k in cash and shares.
We want to buy a new house for around £400k, max £450k.
My wife is currently pregnant and is due to go on maternity leave around late August. I typically earn around £60k to £70k a year in my profession when working and my wife £42k a year.
We would like to move house this summer. What are the chances for us getting a mortgage for the price of a house we are looking at given our circumstances. My wife owns a flat which we would be willing to sell.
Thanks in advance.

With no guaranteed income then there's little point in applying for a mortgage. As you will be declined outright.0

You cannot get non-status mortgages anymore. You need an income.0

As long as your wife can support you as a dependent and affordability fits with a new dependent, you will have options with some lenders. However, she will have to confirm she is going back to work, the date and her employer will have to confirm the date and her income.I am a mortgage broker.
