Parking Eye CCJ Action

Options
Seen a few threads but most apply to before a CCJ has been sent out. Basically I have received a CCJ letter today for an offence back at the end of February. I havnt received any other documents regarding the fine until today so been unable to pay or contest.

I am not 100% sure but I think the fine will relate to a night out I had with my girlfriend where we were going for dinner and parked up, she made a couple of calls and then decided that we were going somewhere else instead. We were probably in the car park for maybe 30 mins or so and had every intention of paying a parking ticket but as we were leaving and never realised it was automated didn't bother with it.

Now I am kind of stuck with what to do, am I even able to make an appeal?

And now I have the CCJ letter I only have 14 days to respond.

Any help would be appreciated.

    CCJ? Offence? Fine?

Are you sure these words are correct?

    what is this offence?

what exactly does it say on the letter?

    Sorry maybe not that clear!!!

I received nothing from Parking Eye for the actual offence.

The first thing I received was a letter from Northampton for Court proceedings.

The offence being parking without a ticket.

It's not a ccj letter, it's a small claim from mcol by parking eye. If you don't want to pay this then you must defend the claim in full, so acknowledge it and ask for 28 days to formulate your defence, don't dispute jurisdiction. Once you've done that come back for further advice.

Still not clear. Do you have À letter from Northampton saying that you have lost the case, by default, and that a ccj will be issued if you don't pay up?

Loads of threads about it if you've got Court claim papers (as opposed to a 'CCJ' which you said at first) and you have 14 days to acknowledge and then to follow that with your defence. That's what post #5 of the NEWBIES thread is all about. Also a search of the keyword 'Northampton' here would find LOADS of results.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It's one of the links in the NEWBIES thread post #5 anyway, plus loads of other stuff about defence.

I don't wish to be overly cynical, nor do I wish to bump this thread, but this is one of several threads I've seen that mention PE and ccj in the title only for the OP to never re-appear.

it seems to me that sometimes the OP is looking for an instant or simple answer to his/her case ( welcome to google). However, fighting an MCOL claim isn't simple, and their isn't a simple answer. The OP needs to understand the claim, and develop an arguement/defence. Google maybe your friend, but not in fighting potential court action.

Unfortunately too many people look for a quick fix, which (IMHO) cannot be forthcoming. If you can't put in the time...pay up.
