Carphone Warehouse Upgrade.
Hi all.
My contract phone is due an upgrade next week, and whilst I'm excited about being able to get a new phone, I'm a tad worried. You see, in the past year my credit history has slipped a bit, and I'm worried I'll be declined for an upgrade. So I need to ask, do Carphone Warehouse Credit Check you for a contract upgrade? Please let me know your experiences and help put my mind at ease!
Thanks.

Why not keep the phone you've got, get a cheap sim only deal and use the money saved to deal with your credit issues?0

As far as I know you should not be re'credit scored as such as your an existing customer and all your doing is extending the existing contract your currently on ie keeping the same number etc, however it could depend on the network your on.0

Getting a mobile is one of the easier things, if you have bad credit.
I have friends who have numerous defaults and even a couple of CCJ's and they still manage to get the latest phone models with high costing contracts.0 -
why not consider keeping your existing phone for a while and make a saving. I did this recently by switching to giffgaff, because you earn credit for contributing to the community forum it has not technically cost me anything for my mobile phone for the last two months!YNWA

I think if you stick to the same network they don't, but if you switch they will.
I agree with posters above though. If you are struggling with credit, get a pay as you go sim, keep your existing phone and cancel your contract0 -
Get yourself a pay monthly sim, theres alot about, Tesco allow you to have a cap on it so you cant spend more than what you would like.0
