Hi;
Situation:
09/05 - House Survey (New build)
13/05 - Mortgage Offer (Yes, that quick, Hurray to Halifax).
15/05 - Sols have full offer in post and mortgage deed.
They are now asking questions of Halifax that the T&C's relating to HTB are in correct.
Anyone had any experience of this? I mean this is Halifax, biggest lender and biggest HTB lender. How can their standard HTB T&C's be wrong or any different to the thousands they've already produced.
Do you think my Sols are just a bit dim?

They have to get an undertaking from Halifax that they will agree to the HCA having a 2nd charge over the property, and also they need agreement that Halifax will not give you further advances other than to repay the equity loan.
My solicitor applied for this at the start, only to realise they did not have it on the day of exchange, and a lot of phonecalls had to be made at the last minute.0
