SUPERMARKET - Furious at these !!!!!!!s

Ok so i work for 'COMPANY' and so does my girlfriend. She recently moved department to kiosk (lottery, fags) and she forgot her clocking in card on a friday (4 hours shift)
She told people around her that she couldnt find her clocking in card and also wrote it in a book. Then the next day (8hours shift) she didnt clock in again because she hadn't found her card yet. Her teamleader said to her, i wont pay you for yesterday because you didnt clock in and I wont pay you for today either cause you havent clocked in.
My girlfriend replied "Well im going home then if your not gonna pay me"
and her teamleader said "Well thats not the attitude your supposed to come to work with"
Ok so my girlfriend is being robbed of about 72quid of paid work serving loads of customers with lottery and fags so the managers can sit at home wiping their !!!! with 20pound notes.
I feel and this is probably law, that my girlfriend has a RIGHT to that money. Shes actually contracted to work those times and she was there all day working.
The teamleader said that my girlfriend signed a Team message (like a weekly message) saying that you wont be paid if you dont clock in (which my girlfriend doesnt recall reading) On top of that the other staff on the department pressurise her to sign and then read it later (which i've suggested she doesnt do)
Do 'COMPANY' have a right to not pay my girlfriend or are they being cheap backstabbing !!!!!!s? 2 billion profit and my payslip is never correct either.
On my department when i forget my clocking in card they pay me after i say i forgot it.
Thanks for any advice

It all depends on the terms of her contract, and whether she really did sign a document agreeing to this.
I would be very careful posting something like this. Although there are many Tesco stores, I doubt that this particular incident has happened in more than one in the recent past. If this was discovered (and people from Tesco do read this board), they would have likely cause to terminate both your employments.Gone ... or have I?0 -
If she is supposed to have signed a message, presumably the employer can provide her with a copy of the signed message?
Does your GF have a contract? What does that say? Normally the contract is to pay people for work done. In order to withhold payment the employer would have to demonstrate that the work had not been done. It is actually illegal to make deductions from wages in all but very very specific circumstances.
It does sound to me like the team leader is talking out of their backside. Can your GF take this higher?Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Intellix - you need to edit the title of your post as well as the content to remove the employer's nameEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

I used to work for a different supermarket and after I left I made a claim against them for an injury that happened while I worked there, they came up with memos and sick notes etc that I had apparently signed, they did not have my signature on but had been forged to make it look like mine, so be careful if you ask them for the copies of what your partner is supposed to have signed.
And I also say that it would be a good idea to take this further up the chain, the more noise made about it the less the chances of people denying knowing that the card was missing etc.0 -
ok i was gonna turn around and saywho cares if i get fired from a job thats not actually that high an hour after they've talked aload of bs and deducted your money, not paid your overtime etc. but for legal reasons (which im unaware of :P)
Yeah shes signing up to this USDAW rep thing tomorrow and shes gonna keep going higher and higher because not only have they taken money from her that shes helped them earn its also unmoral to do so!
My view of this society is getting worse and worse. Corporate people are basically stealing from the poor and giving it t o the greedy rich (bank charges, companies etc)Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I don't really think it makes any difference, as soon as i got to the "2 billion profit" bit i knew who it was about.
