Birthday Cake help please

Hi I thought some of you talented lot on here would be able to give me some ideas. It is my daughters fourth birthday next week and she wants a Fairy Cake, no other description just a fairy cake.
The trouble is there are 30 kids coming so it has to be big. I usually get the Cost Co cakes as they are big in size and also only cost £9.99 but they only put a bit of writing on or balloons for her age.
Is there anything I could do to customise the Cost Co cake or has anyone seen a fairy cake that is a good size not too expensive?

Thanks for any help.

P.S. No point telling me to make my own I really think it would be far too stressful with my zero expertise!!!

You could use a costco cake & buy some fairies from a cake decorating shop

I've just been searching on the net and I've seen those doll cakes with the cake dress I just know she would love one of them, I had one when I was little and I've never forgotten it. I wonder if I have time to order one of these and how much they cost??
Oh decisions decisions I don't know why I tie myself in knots over these things.

If you could get a nice picture of a fairy. Asda will print it onto one of their £10 cakes for you, in the bakery section. They are not huge, but you could have a spare to cut up as well so everyone gets a piece.

TBH, at 4 yrs old she will be so excited and overwhelmed by a party with 30 guests, the cake will just be one part of the party, and I'm sure she will love whatever you do. I wouldn't stress too much over the cake, you will have so much else to do!! :)

Instead of getting one cake, you could buy lots of true fairy (cup-cake) cakes, with white and pink icing. Dust with edible silver glitter and arrange prettily on stands covered in pink/silver chiffon. Intersperse the cakes with fairy wands.

And/or get a plain iced cake if possible as it will be easier to customize.
Get some coloured icing, or white and a couple of bottles of dye - pink? yellow?
Go to a cake decorating shop and buy some edible glitter and icing cutters to make fancy shapes (look on the net for internet suppliers ( e.g. Jane Asher, or for example http://www.purpleplanet.co.uk/acatalog/Edible_Decorations_.html?gclid=CP_8qNi-mI0CFSQHEgodUSNP5g
    or local shops).
Put the cake on a pretty board.

One easy decorating idea is to get a large-holed doily; very liightly mist the top of the cake with water;place the doily over the top of the cake, dust with edible glitter; allow to set for 30 mins; carefully peel off the doily.
Tie the sides with co-ordinating ribbons
    .

Or, get a rice paper photo to stick on the top of the cake. Perhaps of your daughter in a fairy costume? for example http://www.caketoppers.co.uk/index.asp?ItemList=photo-cakes-picture-cakes--15513247

Or, get some fairy pictures, laminate, then place onto cake, sticking on with a little bit of icing. You could print off copies to decorate the table, place on invites, etc.The following link might give you ideas:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Garden-Stickers-Pocket-Size-Sticker-Collections/dp/0486299759/ref=sr_1_15/026-0002139-5098841?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1183916647&sr=8-15

I guess this is the effect she really wants, but it takes some skill to make this! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000NA9I9G/classiclitera-20?dev-t=D3E49ECS9E0KO%26camp=2025%26link_code=xm2

Im doing a cake for my son and a friend who are having a joint party. My son wanted a power rangers cake so i got a photo of him dressed in the gear added a messgae and bought a edible cake topper from a ebay seller for £3. Same for his friend. The quality is perfect and will be a huge success i hope! Also making decorated cup cakes and arranging on my 3 tier wedding cake stand- enough cake for 40 hopefully!

Sounds like just sticking with the costco cake will stress you out less going for a known thing.
Similar to Hester's idea you could customise it by getting some fairy toys and sticking them on - the Disney Store have a playset of 5 fairies reduced to a fiver at the minute, you could stick them , have her name iced on it, and then she also gets 5 fairies to play with afterwards.

My daugher wants a princess cake for her 3rd birthday. I dont think she cares as long as its pink LOL
