Have you left the Force as a result of the injury?
If so, this might explain it:If, as a result of an injury on duty, you are permanently disabled from performing the ordinary duties of a member of the police force, and you have left the service, you will receive an injury award under the Police (Injury Benefit) Regulations. This does not form part of the pension scheme.0 -
Ok, well it seems the payout for your injury is a separate concern to the pension.
If they are saying you can take your pension I am assuming you're old enough to do so? In which case there will likely be a reduction for taking it before the scheme's normal retirement date.0 -
Have you asked your pensions administrators? Mine were very quick to respond and very helpful on the couple of occasions I have contacted them.
