Bank Holiday Weekend Half-Price Offers - Saturday to Monday.

Only the two half-price offers in the North east of England, so please check your local store in case it differs.

8 British Beef Burgers (681g) - £1.64

Red Peppers (loose) - 27p each

On the same dates, they have a BOGOF (don't know why not just half-price?):
Cheese Slices (200g) - £1.49 (so basically 75p per pack - give or take a half pence!!)
(with gouda or with emmental)

Also on the "back page" and for the above dates, they have:
Shiraz La Mancha - Large 3l Box - £9.99
(12.5%)

And finally:
XXL Lumpwood Charcoal (4kg + 2kg extra free = 6kg) - £3.99
(4 x 1.5kg bags - instant lighting)

Not sure about the cheese slices - the offer the other week worked out at 75p/250g, delicious mature cheddar and I have managed to get through 3 whole packs single-handedly over the last 10 days

The burgers are OK but there is quite a lot of fat runs out when grilling, I would never pay full price for them.

tessie bear - I use the burgers to make meatballs with.
I cut each one into 4 or 6 pieces to make the meatballs, fry them off first and drain them.
One day they'll put the meatballs back on at half-price again. lol

I'd only buy them when on offer also, but generally I only buy meat at Lidl when on half-price or when they mark it up at 30% off.
Paying full price for meat, in fact virtually anything, is a no-no.

Same offers in Oxfordshire. The cheese that is on offer is different brand from last time. Can anyone tell me what "with Gouda" or "with Emmantal" means ? Have they taken Chedder and blended it with a percentage of these other varieties ?

The main theme for the whole week ( 22nd -> 28th ) is "Viva Mexico" - so lots of Chilli flavoured type stuff , Fajittas , Tortillas, Meat Balls , Pizza etc

To answer my own question, I dont fancy this cheese at all.
Ingredients are listed as

Cheese 40% , Gouda cheese 30% , and then a whole pile of other stuff


If you want Gouda cheese slice , you may be better off going for their
"Milbona" Gouda Cheese slices 400g for £1.69 ( reduced from £1.99 for the week of 22nd -> 28th ) - so only 20p more for same amount

dlusman i thought they might be a mix...not sure id fancy that but i might try a packet as an experiment...thankyou for help on beefburgers...i am going to try a packet for the bbq then perhaps buy more the next time they are on offer if we like them
