Hi, a lady at my work told me she is getting a new boiler for free from a company called Tivium, she said all she has to do is pay £299 up front and they would send a man round to do a check on her old boiler to see if she qualifies for a new one, the first man came round and she gave him a cheque for 299, he told her the government will reimburse her of 270 when all the work has been done, he said another man would come round a few days later to do the check on the boiler. The second man came round as promised he did the check and said she could have a new boiler and that all this will be done within 6 weeks. They also told her she does not need to be claiming any type of benefit to qualify. Can anyone tell me if they know of this company and if such a deal exists, I am worried she has just given £299 of her hard earned cash.
    Many thank careworker

I'm having a free boiler installed next week and I got it going through SSE as my electric is with them

Applied Xmas time and have now had the epc done and the technical survey which said I can have it for free, some people may have to pay a contribution but they tell you before you sign anything, it's all to do with the epc on your house apparently.

    I haven't parted with a penny though so I'm well happy :j:j

Do you have to be on Benefits to qualify?
  • Tivium have now changed their trading name to Green Earth

My mother in law has been trying for the past three months. They either don't answer the phone, send out a standard email or eventually send you a standard letter stating that your request for a refund has been denied. However I am still trying on her behalf and am about to email them again (having already submitted letters by recorded delivery). We have also advised the Fraud Squad who are supposed to be looking into them - I will let you know if we have any success although it is looking doubtful. Did I read somewhere on here that they have changed their name and are trading under something else? I note that there website states that they are not taking on any new customers.... I wonder why?

Nothing to do with Tivium, but many (not all) councils have ECO funding to distribute in the form of grants for energy saving measures such as boiler replacement, so that's worth a check.

Tivium is a company that is well known for misselling green deal assessments with the promise of getting a free boiler, insulation etc.

The problem is the company (Tivium A) that is doing the misselling is not a green deal company so cannot be held accountable under the green deal rules just consumer protection rules.

Tivium A is then passing the leads onto Tivium B which is a legitimate Green Deal company.

People are complaining to Tivium B who has done nothing wrong and it is proving very difficult to get any refunds from Tivium A as no one has their contact details.

  • My dad has obviously been duped by this gross company they call Tivium. Yes like all of the above he has paid out £299, because he is an honest and decent man who put his absolute trust in this company that looked like they were under the new government green deal.

What can we do now to get back this money? Anyone else waiting for a refund.

They have sent 1 letter ( in october) saying that he is due a refund.

It looks like if the press get involved, money gets refunded almost straight away!

Any help would be appreciated for my dad

    Cheers
  • Keep pushing them, we are not giving up on this, my dad has had a letter (dated October), saying that he is due a refund, but they just keep giving excuses and we are still waiting. Ive emailed the press and local news stations, can you do the same. I think I am going to try and pursue this company hoping that more and more of us can really put the pressure on and get back our money for our family. Good luck
  • Stroma.com - use the contact us to message them This is the company who accredited Tivium, can we all try and put the pressure on by reporting Tivium to them, post emails to local press and local news. if we can put the pressure on and try and get our families money back
