soar quote

Options
we have 2 quotes so far, one for £8995 elvac green link renewable energy 16 panels and iboost
and the other £6725 for 14 panels with iboost from eec solar pvc

Both claim to have good aftercare - but eec have a 20 year replacement warranty on the inverter.

eec give you a link to a page to chick out the company balance sheet which all looks very healthy, but elvac have no assets or anything and have only been trading for 2 years. I have spoken to 2 customers who were happy and had had no problems.

eec have been trading for 23years.

Any thoughts appreciated

elvac is expensive. The eec one is getting closer, but could be better. People have been getting quites closer to £5.5k for a similar system but with 16 panels.

What make are the panels? And the inverter? Whereabouts are you, as people here will happily recommend local suppliers if they have a good one :)

Other thing to remember is long warranties are often not much use as the companies that provide them often don't exist when you come to claim under your warranty terms.

I live in N.E. Lincs (not too far from you) and if you want any info re-local installers, or would like to look at my panels/set up you're welcome.:)

I looked at several installations/ received quotes by different firms (local and nationwide) and, asked questions before I gave them my hard earned cash:D

Hiya Anthony. Sorry to be rude, but if I'm looking at the right website, then your FiT and export figures are nearly 2 years old. Also the leccy savings examples are extremely high, based as they are on 50% consumption, but strangely the higher generating 4kWp example shows lower leccy savings than the lower generating 3kWp example. [Edit: I think the 3kWp figure of £266 should be £196 - though personally I think even that is rather high. M.]

I'm sure you're busy, and have better things to do, but an out of date website can raise alarm bells, especially one that suggests greater levels of income/savings, than are now possible.

EEC quoted me £5995 for 16 panels Eco future and a solis inverter with a 20 year warranty, so if you choose them haggle like mad. You could try Fenland Solar, they quoted me £7k for 16 Canadian Solar panels, a power one inverter and schlepper mounting system, they can be haggled down to £6k.

    Be careful.
I've been getting quotes between £5.5k and £7k for a 4kW system. These all seem reasonable.
This week I had someone came round and said the price was £11k but they were doing a promotion in the area for £9k. I was waiting for him to say that this was only available today but I'd already told him what I was expecting so think he knew he had no chance.
