Hi
I have been a loyal Sky customer for 10 years and currently have the top package with Sky+. Really could do with a drop in subscription for a few months I currently pay £53.50 a month. OH not happy and wants to keep Sky sports and losing movies will only save £4.50 a month.
Rang to today to threaten to cancel to see if anything happened but nothing just told to cut the package or cancel.
Any one have any advice? Should I cut package (and take the wrath of OH  )or cancel? If I cancel can my OH sign up a new customer?
Thanks

Not sure that you need to be paying £53.50 anyhow as the sky plus £10 charge was wavied about a year ago now if you took 2 or more premium channels and it has been recently stopped altogether. This is yet another example of sky ripping us off by not telling exsisting customers that they do not need to pay this charge.
I cancelled recently i havent recieved any offers as paying £43.50 is a rip off (soon to be £45.00) after a week of missing certain programs i am not really bothered now. Yes i am missing out on 1 or 2 programs but to be honest they are not worth that amount. i will now only come back if i get an offer of halfprice for 6 months or more. Just think what you could do with the money instead!!!"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -
The extra £10 is for multiroom as I watch upstairs when footie etc on. Ddint realise subscription was going up again
. Looks like I wil have to discuss with OH again. Not fair, only want a bit of a break for a few months after 10 years.

I cancelled! BUT my DH wants to keep it and pay... now do we call up and say we've changed our mind or wait and let DH sign up as a " new customer"

Leave it till it turns off then phone them straight away and ask what deals they have. I would imagine they will offer you half price for several months at least.
If they don't you can just turn it back on anyway, you won't need to put it in hubby's name, just turn it back on in yours. They'll do it instantly so you won't be without Sky for more than a few mins!0 -
Thanks I found another thread ref this looks like sky are being meanies at the mo but Ill give it a go.:j0
