I am not familiar with "kcards" the title I gave was exactly from the tax return

kcards is my business name I don't have losses box in my name, that was what was confusing me, but manage to figure out that if I answered no to a particular question that then allowed me to put in the losses.

If you are a sole trader you are the business. It is your income and your expenditure.
Look in fill in your return: self employment section there should be a page for losses, that is where you enter the £1477. It is your loss.
The only thing that is constant is change.

If you are a sole trader you are the business. It is your income and your expenditure. You cannot be separated from the business. You and theiness are indivisable

I could be wrong, but I think you need to go back to the first year in which you were self-employed and submit a return for each of those. How many years are we talking about? have you made a loss in each of them? I'm not sure how HMRC will react if you want to claim your s/e losses against the tax you've paid in PAYE over several years.

You might do well to consult an accountant.
