Don't follow any link but google for UPS's website and enter the tracking number -is it a valid tracking number ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I've had loads from USPS (US Postal Service, I think). I just junk them.
I thought it was UPS at first (as I think we are expected to)0 -
99.99% of the time they are junk (UPS/DHL/Amazon are a few I have received recently).
As duchy says, if you are unsure if it is an actual parcel for you, go to the couriers website via Google and enter any tracking number provided. This will then show you if it's genuine or not.
I actually had one yesterday from Yodel. At first glance it seemed very spammy, but when I went to the Yodel site it was a genuine email about a parcel I was expecting.0 -

"notice to appear" and "outstanding invoice" seem to be common ones at the moment.0 -
The only companies I ordinarily get emails from are UPS (ironically!), DPD and very occasionally Yodel.
As someone else suggested, I also always open the courier website and manually type in the number of the alleged parcel....
You can also hover but DO NOT CLICK over the link in the email to see if it is going to UPS genuine website...
And also worth checking the sender's email address...
Incidentally, just looked at my genuine UPS ones...
The sender is UPS Quantum View, and the title always has the tracking number in it (the ones I've received have been Delivery Notification - after they've dropped off the item - and Exception Notification - indicating they couldn't deliver... I've not had any in advance of a UPS delivery).0 -

The sender is UPS Quantum View and it does have the tracking number in the title so maybe it is genuine, can't wait till tomorrow0 -

The one I received had a link to print a shipping label, which I would have to take to a post office to receive my parcel, when I clicked on the link It took me to a file on safekillpestcontrol.co.uk.
Avast warned about a virus so I gave up on it.0 -
