Do Specsavers credit check?

A few years ago I tried contact lenses and signed up to one of Specsavers packages. However with a new baby I just couldn't find the time to be fiddling around in the morning and turned to my glasses more and more frequently.... I stopped wearing the contacts altogether and a while later cancelled the DD through my bank. I never contacted or heard from Specsavers again.

Now I have more time I would like to try again but I'm concerned if I sign up to a package I'll be credit checked. I went bankrupt a few months ago now. Also, if anyone has experience, I have an nhs exemption certificate how does that work with getting tested for glasses and contacts and getting both...

I don't recall ever being credit checked for my lenses, in fact, I'm sure I went on the lensmail scheme for the first time before I was 18. There's nothing, as far as I can see on their website. Specsavers are a franchise, but I don't think they could apply something like a credit check, to specific stores/franchises.

As you're paying for the lenses in advance, you don't pay you don't get the lenses.
