I have been led to believe that inside todays Times in Culture you can somehow get hold of preview tickets for Transformers movie. My 5year old would love to see this, if anyone could post the details.

    Thanks

Julie - unfortunately it's a 12 cert, which seems wierd as it's younger kids that seem to like Transformers (like my 8 and 5 yr old nephews). The makers of the film are likely to lose money by restricting it to over 12s I think?

Nothing to do with the makers (other than they gave it its content)
It's the British Board of Film Classification.

In the US it is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, brief sexual humor, and language

According to some posts on IMDB the 12A is probably because ....

    Sex & Nudity
No sex scenes- a couple of sexual jokes including one about masturbation. Some sensuality, and some very suggestive images.

    Violence & Gore
Many scenes depicting violence and carnage between the transformers and between the machines and humans alike. No gore and blood consists of just scratches and cuts.

    Profanity
There were some some mild swearing in the movie including sh** several times. The F word was implied but never used.

    Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking
A character is implied by a police officer to be abusing illegal drugs. The drugs in question are actually pain medicine for a pet dog.

    Frightening/Intense Scenes
Intense action scenes, with "Transformers" launching advanced weaponery against humans and destroying things. Children may be scared or frightened by such actions and the characters depicted in the movie.

younger kids can go and see Transformers - a 12 simply means that they cannot go and see it on their own and that they must be supervised by a parent. In effect a PG - exactly the same as Pirates was.....

And the movie makers will not lose money - the majority of people that want to see the film will be people like myself (25-35) that grew up on gen 1 transformers....

    the sunday times costs £1.90
the tropicana costs £1.60 (or so)

sainsburys has princes juices on 1/2 price at the moment so 45p each- so i guess it depends on how much you like the paper and how much you think a litre of juice is worth.
