Injection to minimise a keloid scar..achilles tendon

Morning everyone.
Any advice appreciated .....I ruptured my achilles tendon last year and after an unsuccesful conservative treatment had to have surgery on my achilles to stich it back together.
Although the operation was a success the scar itself is very pronounced and spread so is very noticeable it is about 8 inches long.
Was wondering if anyone had experience of an injection which is meant to minimise/improve the appearence of the scar.
If anyone has any other suggestions that would be great too.
Thanks for reading.....:)

Hasn't your doctor/surgeon offered to do anything about it?

Keloid scars can be tricky and any further injury might make things even worse.

A slower improvement in healing might help. Certain essential oils can help in such situations. Sage e.o is meant to be good for keloid scars. There are a few others as well such as Helichrysum, Lavender & Rosemary verbenone chemotype. They must be used mixed with a carrier oil such as Rosehip and Hazelnut. Be aware that a constituent of Sage can have some toxicity so be careful how much you use. People eat sage herb regularly but e.o is far more concentrated.

Studies using iodine on the skin have shown some effectiveness. It needs to be kept covered which might be difficult. Ensure that you get some selenium and magnesium because some of the iodine will be absorbed into the skin. Too much iodine can cause hypothyroidism unless the nutrients to make use of it are also taken. Selenium prevents antibodies being produced against the thyroid. It's useful to ensure you get sufficient quantities as a general preventative. However this is only a precaution and you might find that you could not absorb enough through the skin to be a problem.

Alternatively, look at enzymes such as Nattokinase and Serrapeptase or possibly lumbrokinase.

DMSO might also be worth looking at especially as it will be used on the scar and penetrate it taking into the skin anything mixed with it. You do need to be careful, clean the skin thoroughly and sterilize the skin before applying because you don't want anything which is on the skin, entering the skin! Enzymes with DMSO might be worth experimenting with but take it very slow.
