Advice for new Bouncy Castle Hirer?

Hello everyone,
I was thinking of setting up my own bouncy castle hire company and have done plenty research into it. There are just a couple things that i haven't been able to find else that would be so useful if somebody could answer them for me, or at least point me in the right direction
I was thinking of putting a bouncy castle or a zorb pool at a beach or town center or in a park as well as hiring them out; who do i need to contact, i figured it would be some one in the council, but any ideas of what departments? What insurance / public liability (and how much would it be?) would i need and are there any permits i would need to get or certificates? Also would i need to be first aid trained?
I have already bought and received my first 5 bouncy castles and zorb pool and balls; i'm so excited to get started and cant wait to hear back from you
If anyone could give me any information at all i'd be so grateful!
Thank You

I don't understand why anyone would buy five inflatables and not have looked into the insurance, permits or training requirements. Town centres are very hard to get onto and the council will have you jumping through hoops for a long time before giving you an answer. You would most likely need to apply for a street traders license too which is not cheap. I would stick to party hire for now and make sure you tell the insurers everything, or they won't pay out if theres an accident.
Nice plug by the way.0 -
OP I wonder what you mean by having done 'plenty of research' when you appear to have missed all the basics.
Yes you will need insurance, you can get some quotes by phoning around and explaining what exactly your business entails. However, if you have not yet got any sites to place your items on then I can't see how you have a business? Obviously though you will still need to insure the items in case of loss or damage while sorting out the licenses etc.
Some councils and events will require you to be CRB checked as well, so be prepared for a fairly lengthy wait on that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hmm, given that the OP has posted the same question on 2 different boards, both of which mention the company name ... call me cynical, but I reckon he / she has actually started a bouncy castle hire business and is trying to drum up trade.
Anyone else detect the smell of spiced pork products ?0 -
This is a troll. In all their posts they advertise the company selling bouncy castles and balls. It you are not a troll then hiring bouncy castles is one of the most dangerous things to get into. The insurance required will be very high.0
