Time to sort it out

I have been reading your diaries for a while now and although I have found them very inspiring I haven't felt determined enough to deal with my own spending until tonight.

I'm a mummy to two beautiful girls and a stay at home mummy. My husband earns a modest £45.000 a year but I manage the money and I haven't been managing it at all instead I buy what I want and worry about it later.. My debt is £2500 on a credit card and £2000 I have taken from a savings account and need to replace before hubby finds out.

My spending is mainly online on bags and expensive clothes I don't need and I spend way too much in supermarkets probably around £150 a week which I know is a lot for our little family. I don't work or do much outside our family home and I have found myself trying to keep up with the yummy mummy's at the school gates and be something I'm not by spending money on clothes material goods that I wouldn't normally purchase. ( if that makes sense to anyone!!!!) I am a typical emotional spender and I know this needs to change for the good of my family's financial future.

Anyway tonight is the beginning of changing my spending habits and I will update in due course I'm hoping this thread will help keep me on track I plan on

1... Cutting supermarket spend to £95 a week

2. Stop online shopping I seem to do this when I'm bored so instead I'm going to read or tidy my home.

3. Exercise more I have half a stone to lose so I am going to walk when I can rather than drive and do my wii fitness game.

4. Declutter and sell anything I won't use on ebay/facebook
