OMG! Those look like the books the little old ladies used to take out in droves when I worked in the library. They had various ranges, a pink one, a light green one, a light blue one. The red range were locked away in the stock room because they were deemed far too rudey dudey. LOL.

Let's hope Bird's Eye Crispy Chickens don't go onto any glitch:rotfl:. Stocking up there beforeTs increase the price again soon - expires 19/5 but me now going shopping even earlier as T keep changing their website too early and affecting msm.
A increasing the price from £1.00 to £1.68. I thought they were still at £1.00 - they were last time I got just one pack (dividing purchases up there to get 8 items onto each shop;)). I wondered why they weren't in the £1 fridge at the end but only down the aisle. Shows how much attention I pay to the prices in the store I'm actually buying at:rotfl: - only noticed when I got home:o - :doh:that's why I had to get a further APG out to pay the bill.
Good really though, as helping me to use a few bigger vouchers I've had of late. I should have checked the shelving to see if this was an overcharging - but pretty sure they were £1.68 on the shelf (not that I was paying much attention to it).
I reckon there is some tactical pricing happening on the Crispy Chickens. If they are 'to be 10% cheaper', that does not mean that if somewhere else is cheaper they need to reduce their price and be 10% cheaper. On the contrary - they probably don't want anyone to have those Crispy Chickens at about 76p a pack (10% cheaper than T's current 84p price) as that may be selling them below cost price. A's normal offer (their 'low' floor-point pricing) on them is the expensive round pound price.
So - this is what happens:
Birds Eye Southern Fried Chicken (2 per pack - 180g)
A £1.00
T £1.69
More than 10% cheaper!:rotfl:
Birds Eye Light & Crunchy Breaded Chicken (2 per pack -180g)
A £1.00
N/A at T, so doesn't matter as no 10% cheaper amount due on it.
M £1.69 - A more than 10% cheaper!
Birds Eye Chicken Chargrills Peri Peri (2 per pack - 170g)
A £1.00
T £1.69
More than 10% cheaper:D
Birds Eye Chicken Chargrills Sticky & Sweet BBQ (2 per pack - 174g)
A £1.00
T £1.69
Over 10% cheaper!
Birds Eye Crispy Chicken (2 per pack - 170:eek:g)
A Were £1.00. We don't want anyone buying these ones as T is 84p (quite a rare low it seems to me) and 10% cheaper would make them about 76p - we don't want people to be getting them at that price. Must increase price, to discourage shoppers from buying them. Now £1.68 (and keep the other ones at £1 and leave them in the gondolas on the end as people notice them more and will buy them instead)
T 84p
I wasn't having any of it - I had my comp. vs T and went for the more expensive cheapest ones:D:rotfl::rotfl::beer::j.
Of course, though, it's also a 'win' for A as I'm very happy with my Crispy Chickens despite their price increase in the store as the APG kicks in. And others are happy with their £1 other Bird's Eye chickens as they can see the Crispy Chicken ones at £1.68 and therefore are not being ripped off by them!0 -
