I found (I got desperate) standing on my head :o

I used to do the crab. (Lie on back and then arch up on to hands and feet) or just lie with my upper body hanging upside down off the end of my bed. I got desperate too!

I had GB pains for several month and didn't know what they were so ignored them. I was eventually taken into hospital after excessive puking which was green with dark granules in it (bile with blood). I was admitted to hospital where it was found I had a serious infection (my gallbladder, pancreas and liver were infected) and I had gall stones. At the time I was following a very low fat diet not because I wanted to lose weight but because I was going to the gym a fair bit and I had changed my eating habits.

I was so poorly they could not operate for a few months so I ended up on daily antibiotics and when I did have the GB removed - my consultant said that the stones were caused by infection (apparently he could tell from their colour and shape). I was ill for some time. I understand your pain - as it feels like the worst pain imaginable.

Ask you GP for a second opinion and if you are still having excrutiating pain then ask for an op (these days it is done using keyhole surgery).

It's amazing the lengths you go to for pain relief when you've got this problem!!!

When I had gallstones I had to stick to as low-fat a diet as was possible and found that milk would often set me off. I guess it's different for everyone but I found that sticking to low-fat and no dairy meant I didn't get any pains - in some ways it was the best diet I've ever been on, knowing that a bag of crisps could cause me such excruciating agony that I'd end up in hospital was so much easier than relying on willpower...

Have to agree with that, gall bladder problems are one heck of a diet. I lost four stones in about five months mainly because it got to a point where I couldn't really eat anything. I'm not sure we could market it as a plan though!

I have been drinking apple juice today and it does seem to have dulled the ache. My friend who is a doctor said it flushes the bile duct.

Weirdly I found milkshake helped my pain. I got to the stage where everything set me off though and ended up having it out. My issues started after losing weight on slimming world. Read lot of stories where going from high fat to low fat seems to be the issue.
The issue can be genetic too so maybe thats why your brothers having it?
Nearly a year since my op but results seem hit or miss depending who you speak to.
