2 missed late credit card payments 2 years ago...help!

Hi

I have been declined a mortgage from platform part of the co- op and when iv'e looked into it it's because I've had two late credit card payments 24-36 months ago. What are the hsbc and Santander like with regards to how likely I'll be accepted based on this? It's annoying as neither says anything specific regarding late payments on their lending criteria. My experian credit report is an excellent 999 and I definitely have good affordability and a 20% deposit in my favour. Your help would be appreciated.

Ignore the score on your credit reports. Thats the credit agencies score, not the score of your application.

making applications without knowing the lender will accept it is likely to cause more harm than good. Personally I would suggest speaking to a broker, hsbc are not known for being the most lenient of lenders.

2 late payments over 2 years old should not be enough to stop you getting a mortgage - have you seen all 3 of your credit reports? It might be worth checking.

On which of the three versions of your credit file do these late payments appear? If you only have one, get the others!

From which credit reference agenc(y/ies) do your potential lenders take their data?

A broker can establish what the lenders can see, as well as research their criteria.

    Why Platform and whose recommendation?

The Co-Op banking group isn't in the best of health at the current time. So may well have tightened its lending policy to thin out applications received and processed.
