What ever you do don't be tempted to buy 2nd hand, people normally get shut becasue the laser is failing and it is £40-50 to replace.0

The PS2 is long overdue to drop in price and will certainly do so before Xmas. I would wait, personally.

The PS3 is also rumoured to be getting a price drop in the US and the UK should follow, $100 in the US I would hope a £100 drop in the UK.0

I bought a second hand one from Gamestation recently, £60 with 4 games (huge selection), and comes with a year guarantee.0

As someone has already said buying second hand from a shop is a far safer bet especially if the item comes with a warranty.
I'm not sure if there is any way of telling how old a PS2 is though so make sure the warranty you get is as long as possible.
Normally the Sale of Goods Act can mean you've pretty much got a guarantee for a few years (ie the reasonable life of the item) however with second hand i doubt you'd have the same protection - it's cheaper and the shop could probably say they have no idea how old it is, so if it dies outwith the warranty they've done as much as they can.

Willing to offer advice on camera equipment and photography if i can!0 -
Thanks guys!
I'm very tempted by the Gamestation offer and will probably go for this as the kids won't wait until Christmas for price drop.
Thanks again

Apparently boots are getting more stock in. The PS2 is priced at £54.99. I purchased one last month + paid full price.Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. ~ Mother Teresa0
