I just though I would add to this for anyone else applying through YBS. After the initial problems explained in my previous posts, I finally went into the branch to apply for the full mortgage application.

From this point onwards things were processed really quickly. The full application was completed on a Friday under new MMR rules, which I then dropped back to the Branch the following Monday. It was with the underwriters a few days later and valuation instructed the same week.

Fast forward a week and half and I had the full mortgage offer. Unfortunately other things then held up our sale, but we exchanged today so all good!

So I guess the for anyone else applying through YBS- don't try and do anything over the phone. Make sure you go into the branch and keep pestering them. I also found out that once your full application has been submitted you can ring their head office and bypass the branch. Head office are much more helpful.

Sorry you've had that experience it shouldn't be any different on the phone or in person.

Do you mind me asking which branch it was?
