Just apply for it no harm in trying. They are changing their policy anyway I think this month or next to allow BR internet access. You can also apply for mobile banking and use the app which is great. No harm in just applying for both internet and mobile and see what happens think you can do both on the website. I've been br a month and they are removing my access to either, but I won't hold my breath lol it could still happen but just now I have access to both0

My Barclays internet banking got switched off the day they received official notification from the OR. I've not seen any thing official about them allowing it again for undischarged people.0

I've just heard it on here from a number of different posters. Like I said not holding my breath for it to stay active but I did see someone on here say you could get mobile banking and daily text alerts but needs to be set up in branch. Might be worth asking0

Hi - my Barclays internet banking was switched off after a few days too. However, go into the branch and ask for a weekly paper statement and you can get text alerts too.
There are claims that banning BR's from internet banking will stop this summer but I'll believe it when I see it - I suspect they are just trying to push as many BR's on to the co-op as they can.0 -
I rang Barclays yesterday to ask if they had any plans to allow internet/mobile banking for undischarged BR.
The guy I spoke to went to check with the appropriate department and informed me that they were not aware of any changes to their current policy. So looks like we will just have to wait until AD, if you take in proof of your discharge they will sort it all out in branch for you.0 -
Hi there, I don't know whether this is of any help to you, but I was discharged from BR in March 2007 having had a basic Barclays cash account opened after my BR was filed in 2006. I have applied nearly every year since 2007 for Barclays to let me have access to online-banking and every time I received a 'no, and we can't tell you why'.!! In the end I gave up asking.
Fast forward to this year I had now had enough of why I can not have internet banking since I have successfully ran two catalogues and one T-mobile account since 2012, no missed payments, all paid up in full each month and banked with Barclays since 2006.
Thankfully I got in touch with a UK call centre who actually took the time to forward my query onto a department that really wanted to help. The reason? I had an internal 'marker' added to my account back in 2006 due to the BR and even though Barclays had this confirmation of my BR discharge on their screen and confirmed I had indeed been discharged, this had not been removed from their internal system.
I have since been told by Barclays that I could've had internet banking with them since I was discharged in 2007! However, I learnt the hard way by not visiting the branch and being passed around from call centre to call centre abroad with no-one knowing why!
I am 'guessing' that as soon as you are discharged you will indeed be able to have online banking as long as any 'markers' are removed from your account internally and they have received a copy of your discharge papers. Make sure you go into your branch to do all of this! HTH!
