Hi All
Sorry if this is a duplicate thread I did try a search but nothing came up
I took the plunge and signed up for Weight Watchers last night and I have start out on Simple Start and I was wondering if anyone out there in MSE land was doing this?
If so do you have any tips or recipies that you love.
My problem is I lack imgination so find it hard to think of thing to eat and therefore get bored quick

I gave up on SS and went straight on to points. The problem was I had loads of meals in the freezer etc that weren't on the SS list, but I knew were low-fat/low-cal. I also hate diets which involve choosing items from a list.0

Problem with me doing points is i "forget" things I've eaten :rotfl:
I'm going to try SS for a bit to see how I get on. My mum is doing points and has lost 28lbs!First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Hello there.
I have recently
signed up for monthly pass and plan to attend a meeting tomorrow.
As I have been following another similar, plan to Simple Start for sometime with discouraging results I fancied a change. I started tracking pro points on Tuesday myself but feel that I would like the support of a group leader.
Sounds like your Mum is doing well with pro points. We are all individual and different things work for different people.
Are you planning to attend a class or do this by yourself or on line? There is a lot of information and recipes on the WW web site.Trouble is I'm not much of a cook....so far easier for this lazy lump to buy ready prepared things that I can easily look up. The Weight Watchers app is very good I find but I gather not everyone does.
Good Luck with everything !0 -
I prefer Simple Start. I tend to do better on it than points or when I do "filling and healthy" where you use 49 weekly points instead of the two daily treats. The trouble is, I tend to look for cheats and pointing lets me do that!
I second looking on the WW website for recipes, they're usually quite good. Also, the BBC good food website has a menu where you can pick your ingredients and it searches for recipes which include them.0 -
I've just started with WW as well but I went straight to points after failing miserably at SS on the 1st day! It does make sense as a plan, it as just silly things like I had already bought an avocado and I wanted to use it!
Enjoying WW though, 5lb off in my first week. Am doing online, but alongside a colleague so I have some support

Ha! I do think it's a plan that works best for those who are starting with an empty fridge and eat quite mainstream food.0 -

Definitely! I had actually just done a food shop which was really healthy, and most of what I bought would have fit the plan by chance. But points just fits me slightly better.
Tempted to try the occasional filling & healthy day which uses the same principles as simple start though, might help keep the interest up!Debt Free and Very Very Proud! - DMP mutual support member 315

I am going to be attending the meetings every Thursday.
So far I seem to be doing ok have never eaten so much fruit in my life.
The weekend was a struggle as I was working my pub job and everyone ordered pizza
I managed to resist though so quite pleased with myself.
I'll be going on to F&H in the next week or two I think.
I have done a few meals myself the last few days and have enjoyed it and eaten a few things I wouldn't normally so that's a good thing
Just nervous about thursday nowFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Stupid question but how does simple start work ?
I've done ww in the past so I'm familiar with counting points.
I've been debating rejoining ww or giving slimming world a go.
Cheers

With simple start you have a list of a variety of food which is unlimited (within reason) lots of meat, fish, fruit & veg. You then can have 2 small treats a day. You do that for a week to get you going then the following week you get 49 points for the week on top of the unlimited selection. After the second week you can either stay on Ss or move to points.
